To solve much of these problems, they need to make politics more transparent whiles also making all the money and donors that MP's and political parties get public so the voters can see where the money is coming from. They are suppose to repensent the intrest of the public but they rarely do and this is why Brexit, Trump and the popularist movment happened in the first place, people are getting disilusioned with politics and what we are seeing over the last few years isn't making things better and if we are not careful, this could really end badly because history has shown how people can vote when they don't care anymore. In any case, the only time it seems we have democracy now is when the public rises up and forces the goverment to listen because they rarely listen to the people anymore, they promise the earth when it's election time only to brake a lot of thoes promises and the good news is, people are starting to realise how broken our democracy is in the west hence Brexit, Trump and the popularist movment around the EU, it's all a sign that the public are fed up with how the system doesn't work for them anymore and the irony is, goverments don't seem to realise that yet which could really end badly for them and the public if we are not careful.
