I never really thought about it, but there are a few potential advantages to this, keep them clean would be much easier, being that snow and dust won't stick as easy to vertical panels, maintaining them will be easier, especially if they are not on a roof, being that a lot of us don't have easy access to our roofs.
Another potential advantage is being that they are vertical, you could stack them up and have more solar power generating ability for the given space, they probably could be done in a way where they can tilt to a certain degree to capture more sunlight, and when it comes to deploying, these would be far easier to deploy and maintain, after all, you could more or less put them anywhere.
But like the video points out, I would like to see a bit more research on the potential power it generates compared to rooftop panels, and how effective they are at different latitudes, but count me interested, because when I look at my house, from the roof to the garden, the amount of panels I could put up and how cheap solar is, I could potentially generate 2 to 3 times more power than I could if it was just on my roof.
