  1. In the UK, we get a lot of wind in winter, so a mix of solar and wind would probably do quite well. Wind power seems to be stronger in winter and at nighttime when solar isn't that great, so both could complement each other throughout the year for more consistent energy. Still, I think the issue isn't renewable energy but having an energy buffer, which means having more energy storage.
