I think they did mention in the video that it works with wind power as well, which Denmark gets a lot of that, also, regardless of roundtrip efficiency, it's better to have some energy storage then throwing away excess renewable energy generated, so any solution to store excess energy when renewables generate more than we need is better than throwing that energy away, especially because with how cheap renewable energy, it's likely we are going to go way past the amount of energy we use a lot of the times, we are already seeing that happening now where we generate more energy than we need for a few days or weeks, over the next decade or two, I suspect we will end up generating way more energy than we need at certain times of the year, so we need some strong beefy energy storage solutions that work.
Also, this could be used for heating over electric storage, which the roundtrip efficiency would be much better.
