I suspect with everything that's going on in Ukraine and energy security, alternative energy sources are going to get a big bump over the next 2 decades that it could shorten the life of fossil fuels by a decade or two. Thanks to Putin, I think it's a given that a lot more energy and money is going to go into alternative energy sources, especially in Europe, so I doubt the fossil industry is happy with Putin right now, I mean yes they benefit in the short term by higher prices but longer term Putin is doing a lot of damage to that industry which is likely going to benefit renewable energy and battery tech the most.
