The problem with the US is that the Soviet Union have done a real number on Americans in that they see things in black and white terms when it comes to capitalism and socialism, which makes it very difficult for the US to put in a lot of social programs that pretty much all the other modern western countries enjoy and because of that, it's the poor and middle class Americans that are paying a high price on that. This pandemic is really showing the cracks in the US system, it's showing massive flaws in how they do things and is likely making things much worse because the public are not getting much support which is putting pressure on them to open up the economy, what kind of system in the modern worlds gives you a choice of risking getting the virus or having no money to get basic things like food? I'll be shocked if even the most patriotic American doesn't see the flaws in the system and if they don't, then good luck to them because they are going to need it with the hard times ahead. With all that said, I am grateful that I am a European because overall there is little to worry about, yes I know hard times are ahead but considering what Americans are going through, other modern countries have it good at the moment.

@BlackEpyon That true, Americans did that to themselves, and they've been paying a high price for it ever since being the only modern country without a lot of the social benefits most of the other modern ones take for granted and that is hitting the poor and middle classes of Americans hard, we are even seeing that with how they are dealing with this virus pandemic compared to Europe, it's quite shocking to see really. But maybe this virus might be a wake up call for change, it sure will be in Europe and it could be for the US but so far things don't look very good in the US, the support network is very weak for the average Americans and even when they do social policies, it's mostly protecting the rich elites and big corporations and not the average Americans that need it and with that, it will be interesting to see how EU countries and the US turn out after the next 6 months to the next few years because they've taken quite difference paths.
