@TProfileG He didn't really have much of a choice, he bluffed to the end but the EU didn't buckle and the more I see and hear of this deal, the more it looks like a good one for the EU and not so much for the UK, depending on your views. Personally, I think the UK had to make some pretty big concession to get that kind of access to the EU market, something Boris and the Tories will want to keep quiet as long as possible to try and pull the wool over the Brexiteers eyes, in my view, I'm in favour of being in closer alignment with the EU as that will make it a lot harder for the Tories to water down workers rights, food standards and the likes, but if the UK is more or less just rubber-stamping what comes out of the EU, what was the point in actually leaving?

@Harlock2day Maybe but Brexit is opening up a can of worms where Scotland and Northern Ireland could leave the UK union, Northern Ireland are already much closer tied to the EU after Brexit and Scotland passed a law in wanting to stay as close to EU rules wherever possible. This makes it very tricky for the UK government to try and diverge away from the EU without those other two pulling away from the rest of the UK and it could pressure the rest of the UK to stay closely aligned to EU rules without having any say in them which isn't what the Brexiteers want as that is much worse than what we already have but for me, I'm fine with that as I have much more faith in EU rules protecting workers rights, food standards then I do with our own government, at least with everything I've seen over the last few years, it's kinda sad that I even think that way but that's how bad things have got with Brexit.
