This is why capitalism and health care shouldn't mix, when profit is involved, the well being of the people become less important. I've been to hospital a few times over the decades and yet never felt any money pressures from it, we in Europe pay higher taxes but we do get a lot from it and I think it's a fairer system because even the poor and middle classes don't get left behind with health care. Now don't get me wrong, we do have our problems with health care and it can be better, more so in the UK that over the last 10 years, it's been under funded but I would never want to trade this system in for what we see in the US. Also, I remember reading up somewhere an American that was on holiday in Europe and needed medical care and even thought he didn't have insurance and didn't get free health care as he wasn't a European citizen, he checked up how much he paid in Europe and how much he would of had to pay if he got the same treatment and it was about 4 times higher. Remeber that this guy had no insurance so wasn't getting free health care like Europeans got and I find it crazy how Americans could travel to Europe and get cheaper health care even if they have no insurance, the system in the US is clearly broken for that to even be possible.
