@sergioserobcam Actually, Scotland wanted to leave the UK union with the intention of rejoining the EU, basically, they wanted away from the UK, not the EU and yes, like Darren said, the UK being part of the EU was a big part of the 2014 vote that kept Scotland in the UK, clearly a lot has changed since then.

If Scotland does it and makes a success of it, the EU will likely go out of it's way to help Scotland and all evidence shows that smaller countries like Scotland usually do well for their people, yes others will likely follow like Northern Ireland and even Wales, especially with how bad things are going in the UK.

It's hard to say whether Scotland or even Northern Ireland for that matter will break away, but one thing I do know, this Tory government is helping to break this union up by creating division and not listening to the people in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Brexit has opened up a big can of worms for the UK that I think the union only has another decade left before either Scotland and/or Northern Ireland leaves the UK union and I feel like the Tories and British people are sleepwalking into that. There is very little in the way of unity in the UK at the moment and that is likely going to get much worse as the cost of Covid, Brexit, high inflation and the war in Ukraine starts to bite and looking at who is going to take over the leadership of the Tory party doesn't bold well for the UK. What the UK needs right now is a new government with more radical new thinking and it's clear we're not going to get it from this Tory lot and honestly, Labour doesn't look much better, it feels like both parties are blind to what's going on in the country and if the union does break up, the blame is firmly on the two major parties in the UK, the Tories for basically pushing all this and Labour for not having a backbone to give the British people an alternative option.
