  1.  @ange4739  Permian mass extinction was caused by co2, not the Cretaceous extinction event. Dinosaurs didn't live during the Permian. Dinosaurs died from Asteroid.

  5. We can still have industrialization without fossil fuels. 90% of our co2 comes from fossil fuels. Yes, it might be harder to run everything on renewables, but it's either extinction or cut back a little on certain things in daily life. Anybody with a brain would choose cut back. The Romans and Greeks did just fine without oil. 1700s lifestyle is not so bad and we can easily generate electricity and keep the lights on with renewables and battery power. And who knows. Maybe we can discover Fusion power a decade later and have unlimited energy.
