Oil itseld is worth zero, it just has potencial to make profit, but that means tech and ability to transport, process and sell it in a competitive market which includes good diplomatic relations with companies related to the biz. Russia by isolating itself is not developing said potencial.

  41. Also, a lot of us just invested in non gas sistems as a middle finger to putin. My whole neighbourhood did it, we are almost disconnected to natural gas. My house for example is fully disconnected. We have heat pump and a wood recuperator. So far, so good 😁

  43.  @aleks5405  that's the root problem, it isn't cheap, it isn't like saudi oil that needs not much tech to drill and refine and sell, it's the oposite, it has harsh winters, needs extra tech to refine, and russia is very big without that many sea ports or roads for transport and export. Not a very good opportunity without big big investment.

There is 1 poisoned glass of watter in 10 but u don't know which one, will u drink it? Very easy to demand stuff when ur not the one in charge of security. If there is money for extra security within borders there is less for ukraine. And on and on. I don't necessarily side either way but I do get the why of the ban.

  48.  @thedamntrain  well it isn't a country but an amalgamation of conquered territories glued by force. It also never was invaded successfully nor made to rebrand itself by force. Russia changes along its history were pretty much voluntary (and yes its a generalist and simplistic affirmation).

  50. I agree with u on self sufficient sistems and alternatives and would live for my country to go even further on that direction. But we have less of that cap which in tern made us more capable to justify the investment (and get said investment) for our wind and solar just by making it more enticing profit wise. We always have payed high energy price and that made us less relent on imports. Leftists forget that part out.
