Countries*. The nation is the pastum and it's pastum territory devided by 2 countries. That's why it's so controversial. Not all countries are ethno- nations and both pak and afgh are good examples of multi-nation countries.

@arisplugis5197 pakistani law removes the right of pastum of their historical territory which can be seen as a xenophobic measure as it puts a division between pakistani pastum and afghan pastum, it imposes nationalism above ethnical identity. I'm stating the obvious but notice I am not giving a personal opinion in the matter. That border was made by the brits and without the agreement of the pastum, and kept by pakistan (afghanistan no matter the regime never fully agreed on it). This is the root problem. People around the world have ethnic identities not national ones (albeit there are those who do) as the rule isn't ethno-nations but general lines crossed by rulling classes with zero concern of the people affected. Also, the displacement can be seen as cruel. That's another root problem. They aren't necessarily respecting the law but fearful of the consequence of staying as there aren't protests of support for them like other instances preceived as opressive and cruel. UN selfish greed and international political plays is also a root problem. And the 3 of them can be observed in this isntance. And yes, even if I see the critics clearly I have no magic solution nor think I'm being morally superior to point them out.
