Other countries I cannot say, but from the prespective of iberia it can be explain by 2 facts (1) middle ages people were diferent and brutal (2) it wasn't specific against jews but against anyone that could think diferently or be more creative, you can include a hole range of people that were pressecuted even some cristian sects. Even within Iberia peninsula you see diferences, some places still have jewish comunities.

There are a number of today's jews who also don't practice, so if practice plus genetics is the definition, a number od jews aren't actually jews - this is based on ur logic 🤷‍♀️ which, disclaimer, I don't adhere to.

  17.  @Larrypint  for what I know is basicly you stop being a religious druze, meaning they don't offer you more knolege within the faith. But besides that it's like personal choice. The child is considered non druze, but again no major consequences. I think in turkey some within the comunity have already maried and made a life outside the faith. But again they secretive and hard to keep track.

  18.  @Larrypint  in case of the druze you didn't get it. The rules are that you need to be from the group (born from male female druze) to be accepted in higher school learning. Druze in that sense is the group of aspire to belong to schollars and schollars themselfs. This means everyone else is not a druze but a familiar druze. So it's kind of a choice and that's why there are so few of them. Fun fact: the zhoroastrians has the same rule and are considering changing it and accept new comers and even have scolllars from marriages with non zhoroastrians. This world is full of tribal anti tribal rulings. As long as there isn't honour killings I think it's kind OK.

The 1st political speak that latter would call itself palestine showed desire to anex the whole area (including jordan and the asian part of egypt) to syria (hence the greater syria project of the assads). 🤷‍♀️ Everyone of these territories (including jews) were palestinians at that point. Same way everyone was yogoslav up until the split into the several countries we see today in the balcans.
