They were one of the poorest countries and made themselves a strong economy. In adition, it's not homogeneous at all with a mixture of chinese, indian etc population.

Those narratives are temporary, scientific studies are not. Anyways we shouldn't deny climate change either, it's very real. It's just not the only factor, a big elephant in the room is the fact we reached the 8 billion human mark, just too many of our species.

Madagascar were roughly 5 million at the beguining of the century, they haven't developed economically much but they reached roughly more than 30 million. That's 30 million to feed in a small economy. Basic common sense: if u have 1 sardine and invite 10 people for dinner, u get 10 starving guests. Dont wanna face reality, don't worry starving kids faces such the ones I grew up with (and still have nightmares) will make sure ull learn the basic math lesson of nature.
