 @inwardstream Augustine's writings, especially on original sin, predestination, and grace, are often seen as problematic or overly rigid by many Eastern theologians. To my mind he went beyond the teachings of Christ. Running ahead like this, you lose the fellowship of the Father and the Son. So I personally find it a danger to faith to follow his teachings. As baptised into Christ, we must hold to and prefer the teachings of Christ, which to my mind he contradicted. If Orthodox, Catholics, and Protestants want to venerate him, it is up to them. I find him problematic.
