If the missiles of Ukraine can reach Crimea it probably justifies Russia taking Odessa. I don’t see the logic though. The more territory you take, the more territory you have to protect from missile attacks. Taking Odessa means attacks might be made on Odessa from further North. The questionable logic leads to a conclusion you have to take all of Ukraine to protect from long range missiles. (Presumably Poland and Romania would not be launching them.)

@willem636 Yes, I half get that, but it assumes the buffer is devoid of Russians who are afforded protection by being in Russia, given their votes earlier to join Russia. It only kind of works if the buffer is outside of the region officially ‘brought into Russia’ recently.

@willem636 So far Russian leadership has always been studiously legal and moral in its actions and policies. This would be a relaxing of this fastidiousness.

USA could be betraying its own people by attacking Russia since 20 percent of Americans agree with or approve of Putin’s actions.

Perhaps the US is today tipping off Ukraine that Russia is likely to attack Bakhmut tomorrow. 😊
