  3.  @MoustacheAlexander  They do need the blessing and sanctification of the church. It’s leaders prefer to do things with sanction (sanction, not ‘sanctions’). Legally too.

The Russian MoD is sending a message to the world that it can retaliate in a strong way which is many times greater than the original offence and that it knows this is not morally wrong. It is showing it has power beyond collective West power by using hypersonic missiles. So it has knowledge and it has power and it is telling the world this and doing so with actions, not just words. Yet another weapon is even stronger, the weapon of non-retaliation. It is stronger, but it takes a lot of strength and knowledge to use it and to master it. A message for another day. For now, the world has been told that nobody should be quick to mess with Russia, and it is an important lesson going forward.
