  1. If I was in that tax bracket, I would buy the Emira, forget the Lambo's, Ferrari's and maybe even the C8 Corvette, because the Lotus appears to be the perfect sport car without the baggage of the other exotics.

  3. The reason DeTomaso made the rear look so goood, is because, that is all any other driver is ever going to see of the Pantera! People talk horsepower, but it is torque they love! The Ford GT40 kicked Ferrari's a*s at LeMans and elsewhere, the Pantera kicked Ferrari's a*s on the street because the Pantera is the Ford GT40 in street form. You know it is American when you can hot rod it in your backyard and its value goes up! Great review!~

  7. After a bit of thought, it seems to me that the Speed Six engine was set up for failure by a bit of industrial sabotage, me thinks the Big Boys did not want TVR competing with them.

  9. Why is the air vents pointed down? Simple, to keep the sausage and round things cool, if the rounds things get hot the courage goes up, then all hell will break loose. TVR has a way of making an inline six sound wonderful! You are correct the car looks like a six eyed, alien beast out of a bad sci-fi movie from the fifties, yet it still looks cool.

  13. In 1970 a friend of mine, a married man with child, had the Tii model and he just loved it. He could not believe that he owned one. I thought it was ugly, but I like the way it went down the road and handled, I was very impressed with the car.

  14. Yes Ferrari's are beautiful, sound and handle great...but, so does the Pantera! The difference is, the Pantera is a romping, stomping, ass kicking American muscle car, riding on a GT40 chassis and clad in an Italian body. Being an American muscle car there is no limit to the modifications you can make to the car and it will not lose value. Now, try that on any Italian exotic! Yes, there are Pantera's with a Ford, flat crank, Coyote engine in them, but you can slap a C8 Corvette in the engine bay, LS, Chrysler Big Block or a Maserati engine in the car.

  17. Yes, they are beautiful, fast, sexy but...I'll stick to my Po Boy Porsche which is a VW Bug with a 2.0 litre, close ration trans and tweaked suspension/brakes. Fast, fun, cheap! Unfortunately, people keep trying to steal it!

  18. I tend to agree with you, at first watch I was not a fan of Number 27 but now, I love the show. The New Top Gear is not very entertaining, maybe it is just me because I am a fan of the "Old Crew'.

  19. What is fun about this class of car is; you are engaged with the driving of the car because you have to use 100% of the engine 100% of the time, if they handle nicely that just adds to the fun!

  22. Back in the days when you could walk into a dealership and ask to test drive one of their cars, they would throw you the keys and say: "have at it", which I did. I loved the smoothness and power of the engine, I liked the transmission, but I hated the rest of the car with its ghastly looks, plus I could not justify the price. Yet, I have never forgotten that engine to this day!

  24. The Europa got no respect because it did not have a V12, V8 or V6 engine. The steering reads your mind, you look...it goes there. What makes the Europa magical to drive is, it has the right amount of power, at the correct moment in time combined with a, you think it and it happens suspension. That ugly little car has the right amount of everything and nothing that is unnecessary.

  39. The biggest Blocker to the electric battery is Big Oil, that is why the battery has been a surpressed technology since the advent of internal combustion engines. We went from telegraph 1844 to first modern computer 1944, Wright Brothers 1913 to the moon 1969, first modern car 1886 to the Ferrari 1940, yet the battery had not changed until they needed a new one for the cell phones and computers. It is a scientific impossibility for the battery to have not developed since 1881, but batteries were found int Baghdad from thousands of years ago. If 'They' were interested in saving the planet, then why not burn alcohol, it does not pollute, can be made from refuges and will burn in the car setting in your driveway, so will hydrogen and it can be created inside the intake manifold as you drive your pollution free car.
