Actually, the best thing to do if you catch someone's glance and they begin to stare you down as if they are offended is to smile, then close your eyes and nod down at them, then open your eyes still smiling as your head comes back up. This acknowledges that you realize that you realize this situation had accidentally developed, and you respect them and don't have a problem with them. But then, my father was a diplomat and these guys in the video seem to be fighters. For most people, you should do it my way... it says too them "I respect you and I am friendly". They are likely to crack a smile back at you, at which point you know that you haven't offended them and they realize that you aren't trying to show dominance over them... you just accidentally caught their eyes.
