In the UK we can't afford to eat our fish.

@stephenchappell7512 Ecconomics is not why people vote. Ecconomics is the bare minimum we expect politicians to get right. If ecconomics was the only thing that matters, we would never have ended slavery.

I think its peoples domestic bills and expenditure which is dictating productivity. Ground rents of £700-£2000 pcm represent gross exploitation. This is also a factor which negatively impacts small businesses and the high street. Introducing a policy of 'fair rent' controls would massively increase productivity. Give people more spending potential and improve the ecconomy. Landlords are gorging themselves. They need to learn to be content to graze.

It is good that you presented without hysteria. There is far too much of that involved with Brexit. Both fshing and farming were groups who voted in favour of brexit and were subsequently 'rewarded' with a terrible deal situation negociated by May and Johnson. Personally, it seems to me that they were punished or sacrificed for taking part in brexit. Brexiteers were not told there would have to be an obnoxious deal in place. There was no appetite for one. There are still huge elements within the government that have in no way embraced the idea and are perpetually looking for reason or excuse to undermine the situation. We are never going to see realistic advantage until our government decides upon a policy other than 'close regulatory alignment'.

@sararichardson737 hysteria.

@Cyprus_Property it is too easy to blame brexit. We have a greed problem in the UK. People jack up prices. Nobody pushes back.

@stevejones4275 'division' is the climate you need in which to rule tyranically. It's no coincidence.

@stephenchappell7512 There is an argument that they did not end slavery but expanded it to include more people and simply extended them a few more freedoms. Slavery without the chains. We are all enslaved to consumerism and economics.

@stephenchappell7512 Harks right back to faith practices enslaving you by sins and virtues, guilt, and shame handles. Some people are blissfully unaware of how much mental manipulation is required to maintain a society.

@stephenchappell7512 Nobody is more a slave than those who think themselves free.

@stephenchappell7512 Oh dear. The Google Nazis have intervened into our cordial conversation.

@Lawrence4000-s3k Only the cowboy businesses that complain about regulation to be fair. Without it, we would see standards free fall very quickly.

@Lawrence4000-s3k it's now impossible for them to prioritise Britain,British business, and British people. It's a real dynamic mess. You would have to be half crazy to step into UK politics right now.

@Lawrence4000-s3k interesting what comment they choose to delete.

@Lawrence4000-s3k no, it's government led. True dystopia. We really should fear this post truth world we are moving towards.
