This is not about improving education. It's to address the issue of the weathy not paying for things in the same way the poor do. It's about ensuring education can be funded properly in the future. We can only achieve that if the wealthy reach in their pockets. Encouraging the weathy to pay more into the education pool out of choice would improve the education.

Can't argue with that.

VAT is an EU tax. It was a brexit pledge to drop it completely. We knew they wouldn't. More evidence that we have never left the EU ? Or that they are just waiting to slither back in. I think we all know.

Starmer is not doing half as much as Corbyns manifesto would have done. The wealthy are still going going to come away very lightly aflicted indeed. Starmer won't be able to rebalance nearly enough. The wealthy are the most protected minority group in the world.

That's not true. But it does come with debt and loans.

We have people now who are so shockingly next level wealthy they could offer to pay this for all the pupils in an entire school and not be adversely affected. Why are these billionaires not more community spirited like this ? Could our schools not have a rich financial backer in the same way the Premier league football clubs do. If they were so interested in philanthropy, you would think that a school or university would be a great investment. Perhaps we could introduce a benefactor funding model instead of a tax funding model.

@ScruffyTubbles Obscur reference. Had to Google it. A rich person who tasted the forbidden fruit. Came of good conscience but personal ruination. Very interesting.

Public sector public ownership. We all get taxed. We all benefit. Private sector private sector/private ownership. We still all get taxed. CEO's and share holder benefit. It really is that simple. The only difference is the beneficiary.
