  2.  @mothgru  Do you think you are steelmanning Sam Harris when claiming he did that? As I heard the usage of the word psychopathic, it referred in general to people smearing others based on known falsified sources and not changing anything when made aware of the falsehoods. Am I correct?

  3. I think both/all sides in this seem to blinded by antagonism that they end up lacking some nuances here. Personally I find Dave Rubin an hypocritical idiot and I have a great deal skepticism about whether Eric Weinstein's fancy words actually has sound insights behind them. However, I can perfectly understand why Sam Harris doesn't trust that the Majority Report is in good faith here. ... not so much Sam Seder, but in my experience Michael Brooks hasn't exactly been a pinnacle of honesty when the topic falls on Sam Harris. I also don't regard Ben Shapiro as an honest actor... my best guess is that he just tries to be civil around people like Sam Harris or Eric Weinstein, because he needs them to build up his brand.  And btw... If you only read Sam Harris' "In defense of torture" article by title, then you have NOT understood the point of that issue. He WAS actually just trying to get to bedrock principles about why we in some cases would be inclined to accept such actions. He was not advocating torture. And btw: I think Eric Weinsteins example with math arithmetic is completely stupid. ... he should stop doing these analogies. They really suck. And please... Sam Seder... Sam Harris didn't say he required you to take what he said as the gospel. He required you to be in good faith about representing his views. THATs different. - and the fact that you misrepresented that detail here, kinda makes Harris' point for him. ... Why should anyone regard you as an honest actor if you take what he actually said and present it in that way? And finally ... Again Sam... you are not completely honest here. Sam didn't call YOU psychopathic. He describes the situation where someone argues based on manipulated audio and refuse to retract even when pointed out. ... I would agree that that is probably the most clear sign of someone not being an honest actor. So ... did you do that, or didn't you? If it wasn't you, then ... why do you assume he called you psychopathic???? ... and yes. Dave Rubin is an idiot.
