  1. Hmm... So ... China is taking a principled position on this, because they see that it's incoherent to argue Donbas should be Russian, but Tibet and Taiwan shouldn't be independent. And Turkey don't want an independent Kurdistan. The question seems to boil down to how to handle such separatist regions. ... and yes, Kosovo is a bit of that puzzle too.

  2.  @user-op8fg3ny3j  Yeah.... but also ... Ukraine gave up it's nuclear weapons for a guarantee that it's borders would be respected. ... It's hard to claim that Russia word means much in these treaties (the Minks agreement too).

  4.  @gkagara  I'm perfectly aware of how we historically got to the current situation. As I said, I'm just trying to reason about what could motivate those countries to criticize Russia now.
