  1. "Bleg" in Danish means "pale" (in English) ... Probably cognate with "bleak"... so ... And the word for black is "sort" - cognate with the German "schwarz". And curiously ... Horse colors in Icelandic use both the word "svartur" (for a completely black horse, also in the ears). And "Bleik" for a bleaching color variant which also gives a stripe along the back.
