  1. I don't buy this "left/right" black and white doctrine. There is a perfectly valid position being a classical liberal, but not having ANY sympathy at all for the conservative republican circus.

I'm objecting to the left/right understanding of a one-dimensional political spectrum and especially to the two-party version of it where you are assumed to have to "join the right" when you "leave the left". I'm perfectly aware that there are many fractions within the GOP, but that was not what I was talking about ... and anyway: The GOP have behaved so apaling lately that any person with integrity should have left by now.
