+Darth Plagueis The whole left/right idea of politics being a one-dimensional spectrum is bankrupt anyway.

+Draikofi It seems to me that the very polarized left/right DEM/GOP political environment in the US makes this more complicated - since classical liberals (or left-libertarians) often end up finding them selves aligned with the Democrats ... and thus in bed with the authoritarian left. It seems like you have to chose between the authoritarian/religious/conservative right or the actually-not-so-liberal authoritarian left. It would be much easier if there actually was a classical liberal party. Now some one will probably point to the libertarian party, but it seems to me that they are flirting with anarcho-capitalism.

Sansa Stark Has Hillary gone "left" ??? This left/right thing makes less and less sense...

Sansa Stark I were in college when Bill Clinton entered Office. ... so yes, I know both of them as well as any non-american can do. But still ... "left" ? ... what does "left" mean anyway? To me she seems more like a opportunist corporatist career politician without any ideological principles.

Sansa Stark I know ... I'm just too sloppy when writing quick comments. Be glad you don't have to learn Danish.

Draikofi So - apart from the environment, are there any principles / ideology of the Green Parties which makes you feel aligned with them?

Draikofi Shold you by any chance have read about geo-liberalism and/or georgism?

This seemed to end in a discussion about "left" vs. "right". To me this seems broken. Thinking of politics/ideology as a one-dimensional spectrum leads you only to not understand other peoples positions. (Like some libertarians calling everybody who don't want to abolish government for "communists") Politics and ideology is not a one-dimensional spectrum. I'm not even sure it makes sense to try to plot it in two dimensions (as many do). Specifically geo-libertarianism cannot be put in a well defined spot on the traditional political compass.
