  2. Darckense Onoda Believing that one has the right to be the last generation on earth is IMNSHO a perversion of classical liberal values. Thomas Paine made it very clear that the egalitarianism of liberalism extended not only to you contemporary, but also across generations. We have no right to steal - including from our decedents.

We don't use the word in Europe. Here "liberal" still means "classical liberal". But in general... Using an ideology as guideline to find the best solution to a problem does not mean ruling out specific solutions in advance - even if they turn out to the the only possible solution. ... that leads to denial. Mind you that the classical liberal founders of the United States were (obviously) not against all goverment. The believed on limited government - not no government.
