If the Russian demands are that their forces stay after a peace, I don't think any country would need the Americans to reject such demands.

Lavrov is full of BS. Before the invasion he said people warning about it was "hysterical". The other day he said Russia didn't invade Ukraine. Now he's whining that nobody want's to have anything to do with Russia as long as Putin is in power. And meanwhile we hear Russian soldiers talk about how they are instructed to shell residential areas.

@TheAchilleas1981 You have a twisted idea of history. If everybody thought so bone-headed all of Western Europe would still be fighting over various borderlands. We're not - since it doesn't make sense to be so selective about history and use centuries old cherry-picked nonsense to try subdue other people just because they want to live free.

@localfixx4184 oh yeah... Poor Putin. Btw... Ukraine gave up it's nukes in 1994 in exchange for Russia recognizing it's territorial integrity. Look how that turned out.

He must also realize that if what he's saying is that any nuclear power can bully any non-nuclear neighbor and threaten anyone who interferes in any way with nukes. ... then that's a world order no one can tolerate. The result of that is that now everybody will want to get nukes to not be bullied and suddenly we'll no longer have only 7 countries with the finger on the red button, but everyone being able to trigger the end of the world on a bad day. Russia must realize that their demands to be allowed to be the school yard bully who always gets his way because of nukes is simply a non-starter.
