I don't think the "giant Finland" theory makes sense. All your arguments also works with the assumption that Finland just wanted back what the Soviets had stolen.

@TheTukaani It's also hard to imagine any country treated like Finland was in the Winter War, not taking the opportunity to undo the injustice if it presents it self only 1 year later. Heck... even after WWII, there were people in the Danish resistance considering whether to go to Montgomery and raise the question of getting Slesvig back. (lost in 1864)

Well... and Finland also threw out the Germans in the end. It's kinda like Denmark fought with Napoleon ... we also didn't have a choice.

I have to point out that the "some believe" sentences in the description is a strawman - at least if it implies that all "beliefs" apart from the first are shared by those stating that National Socialism is not actually socialism. You can easily state that without believing that Nazism is neither capitalism, socialism or any of the other beliefs... Fascism is neither.

Well ... I agree with you that actual socialism has a tendency to end in authoritarianism, but even I had to stop listening to your long uncritical praise of everything capitalism. It just became too much.

I had a stab at playing the Wargame "Stalins war" (*) the other day. It's a weird game. It's card-driven and if the German player doesn't get the "Winter uniforms" card during the first few turns they will have a serious disadvantage for all the coming winter turns - which basically creates a completely different game with a different game balance. I don't like games like that were you basically start by rolling a die to se whether the game should be heavily biased one way or another. So, the winter thing is everywhere. *: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/22677/stalins-war

Not sure it takes 52min to state that Hitler didn't use the term "aryan race" for nothing.

The Finns was practically forced into allying with Germany by the Soviets. And the Germans actually refused to leave Finland when the Finns made peace with Stalin. They fought a whole war over that ... the Germans and the Finns that is: The Lapland war.
