  1. The last shown "alternative" via Denmark seems pretty optimistic. The land supposed to keep the water out is not that high above sea level. Also... closing the entire North Sea off, would probably change the amount of warming the gulf stream brings to the area around Denmark and North Germany.

  2. Easy now ... Germany is naturally a bit more hopeful that Putin will come to it's senses ... but it's coming. They just put a hold on Nordstream2 The biggest problem here is the stupid post-Fukushima decision to abandon nuclear power - making Germany depended on Russian gas. And PS: The idea that natural gas is climate friendly as a "transitional fuel" is BS... it's time and time again been shown that even though it burns emitting less CO2, there's much more leakage in the production.
