  2. Yeah, sarcasm is making everything better especially. Now the whole of this civilizational behemoth is going to collapse in a while, and you'll be back to what you decry. Only in a world thoroughly polluted and made toxic to the bone by what you call progress, I suppose. And all of your babies will die because it will be unliveable. Billions of people dying. Alternatively, a high-tech future of thoroughgoing denaturalization where we become inhuman altogether. Drones. No life beyond the system. Pick one. The world collapsing either way under the weight of overpopulation, death of ecosystems and nature, scarcity of resources, no fucking air to breathe, dude. No air.

  3. "Our" goals are becoming increasingly technicized and mechanized-we have long been being adapted to subordination of the machines. I'm not talking Skynet. I'm talking pervasive alienation from the natural world, pervasive deskilling of the individual and erasure of personal autonomy through our insertion into impersonal systems, much, much, much more. An unstable AI would just be the icing on the cake. But at least some people will (do, probably) have Batmobiles-
