  1. Because Strange wasn't trying to injure or entrap Spiderman. He just wanted the box back. Spiderman isn't the Scarlet Witch, Dormanmu, Kaecilius, or Memphisto. He just a kid, with unusual but very much natural abilities, just trying to help people. Strange wanted to reason with him, because he can see how smart he is, so he tried to appeal to that.
