It could be a case of the island dwarfism/gigantism phenomenon. A small human hominid ancestor may have migrated, moved to the mountains, and became tall due to this. However it could also be due to genetic factors as you stated. When that phenomenon happens, usually the species it happens to have had larger or smaller ancestor in the past, which the unique island biome could trigger genetically in some way. Might be one, the other, or both. There's no way to know without further research.

Antarctica is barely habitable even you were to scratch a living off fish, penguin, seal, and whale. How is that even possible?

The Aborigines ancestors originated in prehistoric India but left most likely because then as is now it quite crowded with lots of new groups coming in. From there the migrated through south east asia to Australia, the Pacific Islands, and eventually by sea to South America (via a canoe of some sort). They lived there for some thousands of years until the siberia hunter gathers came down from the north and wiped them out. Although some were probably taken for sexual purposes which is why there dna still remains in modern native americans. This was all discovered by French archeologist about 10 or so years ago.

Bigfoot are nothing but prehistoric primate relics of the ancient past. If you watch the behavior of chimpanzees or gorllias you'll find your answer. Basically though they routinely kidnapped human women for mating purposes. Some of the native women even taught there offspring there languages. This all according to native americans. Some natives carry the gene so it makes sense that some bigfeet might have also carry it. Primates don't have lips though by and large so I can't see it coming from them.
