It's not just people of African decent. It's all people with darker skin. Look at videos Chinese make mocking Indians and Indian culture. It's been like this for thousands of years. You may think it's unacceptable but if your family comes to live in any part of Asia for more than a couple generations you will come accept it as par for the course. It's not changing or going anywhere even if people mix it'll still be there. Much like it is in the West.

It's that way all over Asia. Not just East or South but West Asia as well.

Slightly off to right Korea.

@PlayWaves1 Neither is being racially ostracized by the adopted family family's or wider community for "assimilating" enough because you look or act a little different. Bottom line in both cases they are being punished for simply existing. If your gonna try to give someone a better life don't half asss the job.

@SLVperso The context of this video is about Korean Adoptees in western nations. Not the middle east or Korea itself. What goes on their is unfortunate but not realted directly to the stories these people are telling. Also racism in one country is not a good justification for racism in another. It's no different mutually self destruction in nuclear war. It's just translates to everyone dying. Each situation is different in different places and needs to treated as such.

@tubester4567 Says someone who isn't a transracial adoptee or probably not even raised in the west.

@user-sf9gs2pg1b She mad about white peoples general lack of cognizant awareness about races or culture outside of there own. Probably specifically American white people if we're coming down to it but I'm sure it exists in other anglo-sphere countries. I do agree that children assuming these aren't babies should be given the choice. However they will not understand the ramifications of that choice even if they make it. Trading the frying pan for the fire is not a great option. Which is what might depend on the situation. The point is that if parents are going to adopt period they need to priortize the needs of the child above their own. Sadly many adoptive parents in transracial or even just regular adoption do not.

@Sellipsis It gives them something to fall back that's concrete when the homogeneous society they are raised in inevitably points out that there some serious differences between them that they refuse to overlook. The point is to give them strategies for what they can do when this happens. Heathy self-reaffirming coping mechanisms. Not train them to take it like a 🐕.

Only because the "a lot of people" keep reminding them of there differences day in and day out.

Or just be aware that your child's life experiences might not have few or many parallels with your own and try to be understanding about that.

@bbbzhong4166 Chinese people don't even like other types of Asians. Chinese people love Chinese people as long their Han Chinese. Other types of chinese people aren't real chinese people according to chinese people. Just another day in the land of Winnie the Pooh deep in the hundred acre wood.

Well many countries now agree with you and have outlawed international adoption now. So woo-hoo you won!! I hope you're happy with yourself.
