This is where values come into play. Not company values but the CEOs personal values. A person who adheres to a traditional christian way of life might not be inclined to do these things. A person who believes in nothing but themself might be inclined to spend that money more on themselves than on anyone else. You see this in japanese business culture. They have a culture rooted in traditional japanese norms which involve looking after the whole community and not just themselves.

@AlliandRico Mostly ones in privately owned businesses, that started from small family businesses, not beholden to the shareholders that a publicly traded company would be. They aren't the vast majority but they do exist.
