  11.  @icarus877  You have everything the exact opposite. The Brexit movement is very similar to the Fascist movement. They both predicate on blaming IMMIGRATION, and they both blame EUROPE for their problems. You are literally following a Fascist style campaign that has successfully convinced you of the opposite. Banks? The EU imposes strict regulation on Banks. Brexit? The people in the Brexit Part want to DEREGULATE Banks giving them a free hand to do what they want. Why do you think TORIES are in favor of Brexit? Because they represent BIG BUSINESS - like Banks who hate the EU because it prevents them from operating without accountability. If Brexit happens Britain will be FORCED to deregulate the Banks and to cut their taxes to prevent them from moving their money elsewhere. Let me show you with some quotes (do your own research too): *"US banks are calling on the British government to cut taxes and red tape that they say could lead to financial assets and jobs pouring out of the UK after Brexit. Senior Wall Street executives have warned UK government ministers that the City of London is losing its competitive edge against New York, especially since US president Donald Trump slashed corporation tax and pushed for looser regulations. One top US bank executive said after meeting UK chancellor Philip Hammond this month: “I think they know there is a ticket to pay to keep [London] as a financial centre.” Stephen Jones, chief executive of UK Finance, a lobby group for British lenders, said: “Competitiveness is a big agenda, and the tax cuts and deregulation in the US have put this firmly on the radar.  “There is a perception that [in the UK] this is still a relatively hostile business and regulatory environment.”"* https://www.ft.com/content/3a2a5598-8d9a-11e8-b639-7680cedcc421 Also: *"UK is willing to ‘change its economic model’ if the EU doesn’t play ball in the negotiations. As more banks indicate that they may start to shift operations abroad, it is possible that the government may choose to slash financial regulation in a bid to curry favour with the City of London. Matters could be made worse if the government signs a hastily negotiated trade deal with the US. Trade deals aim to level out regulatory standards between two countries, and in theory this could mean that both countries choose to raise their standards to make them equal. But with Donald Trump in the White House, it’s fair to assume that the direction of regulatory standards will likely be downwards."* https://neweconomics.org/2017/04/brexit-banks-stands-gain After leaving the EU BIG BUSINESS is expecting large scale deregulation and big tax cuts. Its the main reason they want out. It is why the Brexit campaign is pumping out so much PROPAGANDA pretending to be the exact opposite of what it really is. In the EU we have democracy. For goodness sake we just have the EUROPEAN ELECTIONS. How can you still believe that the EU is not democratic? We the people get to choose HOW the EU is run.

  14.  @icarus877  Farage is on video all over the internet contradicting himself. Saying one thing here and the exact oposite there. All Farage does is tell people what they want to hear when they want to hear it. He uses POPULIST tactics like picking on immigrants and blaming the EU for everything. It is TORY government that put Britain in the state it was before the referendum, NOT the EU. It is the same playbook the right wing fascists movements have used time and time again. Blame immigrants, Nationalism, xenophobia, flag waving and using peoples anger and frustrations to lead them into poor decision making. We have seen this time and time again all over the world. The EU is constantly changing and it was definitely worse in the past but it is also definitely reformable because it has been under a process of reform since its inception. The REAL problem with the EU is that nobody is encouraged to engage in its politics. If VOTERS were encouraged to take an interest in the EU then those things you mention would get fixed. We WOULD vote for candidates that have SPECIFIC ideas about how the EU should be different. And THAT would pressure the government to propose the relevant changes at the Commission level. It would even change the way we vote in UK General elections which would force UK Governments to push for this or that in the EU. But the British Government have all but hidden the EU process from us, clearly they have not encouraged the people to engage in Europe. But they should and that is what would make all the difference. Siding with the US is the WORST mistake we can make. That will be a disaster far worse than any problems with the EU. The EU is a LARGE net benefit to us. It always has been. But a deal with the US will be a very bad indeed.
