@stephenobrien5909 The "bail-outs" in the UK are higher per capita than in the EU. People seem to forget the UK is borrowing and printing money like there is no tomorrow. UK debt per capita is still higher than EU debt per capita.

@igotvaccinated2816 Brexit didn't give you the vaccine. The UK could have made its own vaccination arrangements even if it had stayed in the EU. Entry into the EU vaccination program is purely voluntary and any member state is free to do its own thing.

@M R " our democratically elected government stood up to the undemocratic EU" - The EU is objectively more democratic than the UK government. Furthermore, the UK government has ZERO control and ZERO leverage over the EU. The UK government complained but had ZERO influence in the decision to back down which came from within the EU itself.

@stephenobrien5909 Googling tells me Ireland debt per GDP is only 62.42% compared with the UK debt per GDP which is 85.67%. The UK is facing another decade of Austerity along with falling trade due to Brexit. At least Ireland is picking up a lot of trade and jobs from UK's loss. https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/countries-by-national-debt

@M R "the EU might have blocked us getting vaccines" - Nonsense. The EU has no power to block member states from doing their own vaccination programs.

@M R Rubbish. If the EU had invoked article 16, it would not have prevented anyone getting a vaccine. Furthermore, it was NOT the UK that made the EU back down. It was the EU that forced the Commission to back down. One person in the Commission made a gross error of judgement and the EU member states immediately forced them to retract.

@M R "article 16, which would have then blocked our most at risk getting vaccines." - Not possible. The vaccines are manufactured in the UK. The EU has no control over their production or distribution.
