This Conservative government has not been investing in the NHS. They have been cutting back the NHS for over a decade. The NHS was on its knees even before this virus hit.

Any failures will not be the NHS fault but the Conservative governments that have starved the NHS of funding for over a decade. The staff are brilliant but they are working in an establishment that has been crippled by Conservative governments that want to get rid of it.

@CoolMusicToMyEars Getting "WHATEVER they want" now is FAR TOO LATE. The Consrvatives have depleted the NHS so much it is IMPOSSIBLE to reverse all the damage done over the last 10 years before this virus strikes. And it is not "any" government. Specifically the Conservatives under-fund the NHS like no other because they don't even want an NHS. Conservatives believe in Private Medicine and that's it. If they could get rid of the NHS they would. They may even use the affect this virus will have on the NHS as an excuse to argue we need to convert it to private funding.

The last Labour government are the huge increase between the mid 90's and the early 00's https://www.nuffieldtrust.org.uk/chart/nhs-spending-as-a-percentage-of-gdp-1950-2020 The Labour party brought the NHS back from the dead and then the last decade the Conservatives have been eroding it again. @CoolMusicToMyEars "Its good that you support the conservative party" - Making up lies about me will not change the fact that the Conservatives have crippled the NHS like they always do because Conservatives hate the very idea of an NHS. They see it as being "socialist" (which, of course, it is).

@CoolMusicToMyEars You are still spreading lies about me which is typical of Brexit supporters. The government is still paying the EU fee. That won't stop until we leave the Single Market (if we ever do). So far this government has not given the NHS a single penny. Thought it has PROMISED a lot. We will have to wait and see if it actually does and what lies and excuses it comes up with when it pretends it funded the NHS properly but didn't.

@CoolMusicToMyEars "we might have still been in Europe when so many want to leave Europe " - More people voted for remain parties in the general election than leave parties. Most British people do NOT want to leave and have not since the day after the referendum.

@CoolMusicToMyEars "I don't believe labour party could have done any better" - They certainly would have been better even though, in my opinion, they are a DISASTER of a party. Labour today is truly awful. But still much better than the Tories ever will be.
