Was Cuba allowed to choose to house Russian missiles? No. When the situation was in reverse, the US didn't respect Cuba's "sovereign" decision. Such hypocrisy.

@Myname Isunavailable It's not about who has how many missiles aimed where. It's about proximity. A nuclear missile in Ukraine, for example, would take only 5 minutes to reach Moscow. This is far too little time for Russia to respond. The entire nuclear peace is predicated on MAD - the fact that whoever starts a nuclear war will also be destroyed by the war. It has been maintaining the peace. But the US has been putting missiles closer and closer to Russia, and it should be obvious that this is unsustainable from Russia's point of view. NEITHER side is innocent here. For the sake of peace they should get together and make a peace treaty where they agree limits to how close they can deploy missiles to each other's territories.
