  1. Did anyone check on the "bad weather" story? I did try to find stories in the Spanish press about adverse weather damaging crop yields but couldn't find anything. That doesn't necessarily mean that it didn't happen, it may just not be considered news-worthy in Spain.

  3. The argument that we are over-reliant on Spain is a false argument because bad weather can strike anywhere. If we moved that production to the more-expensive UK, there is at least as much chance of bad weather striking in the UK as there is in the south of Spain. It really doesn't make much sense to be paying high prices to grow summer foods in the UK when we can be getting cheaper summer foods from hotter parts of Europe.
