This is why the Good Friday Agreement works. It removes any targets. It isn't that the IRA don't exist it is that they have no targets to attack. No border guards. Nothing. And this state of affairs is only possible if north and south follow the same regulatory standards.

@oafpolitics179 Of course the EU is far more trustworthy than the UK. But it doesn't matter. Responsible adults don't run a country by leaving the gates wide open. You don't like being part of the EU but apparently you trust them to have a gaping unchecked border into Britain from their territory. But (thankfully) you are not running a country. People who run the country have a responsibility to keep the people in that country safe and that means checking what comes in from ANY country that doesn't uphold (by treaty) the same regulations we do.

@oafpolitics179 There is no EU Army and there are no plans for an EU Army. Just Macron shooting his mouth off about something nobody else wants.

@oafpolitics179 If Brexit happens then the UK and Ireland will BOTH add infrastructure. That is a given because it is a non negotiable fact of life that countries need border checks.
