@retrowatches1655 "His last term inflation went down when he implemented tarrifs " - Nope. Inflation under Obama 2009 - 2017 1.4% , Inflation under Trump 2017 - 2021 1.9% . Trump inherited a great economy and then caused a great deal of harm to American farmers when he started his ill-judged trade war with China - which he inevitably lost and capitulated.

Western allies should stop buying US goods and start buying Canadian, Mexican, EU, British, etc.... anything but American. - Stand up to bullies.

Despite the excuses, it is curious that Trump has selected the three biggest exporters to the US to impose tariffs on. So, to the untrained eye, it looks like a money raising exercise - a cash grab from the American people at the expense of the American people and the US's best trading partners. No doubt Trump has plans for all that money and likely has ways to filter as much of it as possibly into his businesses and those of his friends and donors.
