Dear Creative Assembly: Please get working on "Total War: Empire 2" for the sole reason of giving Sweden these special units. Thank you. <3

I have never, ever been the only Matthew in anything I have ever done

I'm surprised at how many of these guys hardly changed at all. It's also interesting to see that for some of the more recent ones, their smiles obviously weren't learned. Obama stands out the most in this regard; exact same smile in both pictures.

I've heard "not my circus, not my monkeys" all over the place. Didn't know it was Polish in origin, but that explains why I hear it so much from my Mom's side of the family.

Insert lizard people joke here.

Knowing a bit about the man, I wouldn't be surprised if he already acted like he was in middle age.

FoL: "I'd recommend watching all of my videos. Twice." Me: "Way ahead of you, buddy."

12:30 - It could be worse. Every single Hellenistic Pharaoh of Egypt was named Ptolemy. Every. Single. One.

That's one of the ones that kinda makes sense on its own, though.

9:25 - I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention the ransom of the city and the "vae victis" incident. To my understanding, this had a profound impact/trauma on the Roman zeitgeist that lasted indefinitely.

I'm American, but I know just enough about Brazilian history to be very curious as well. :)

@vladtheimpala5532 I'd trade our latest presidents in for somebody who didn't have to win election in an age of visual media, as opposed to speeches and writing. I think that shift has dramatically lowered the quality of our candidates, among other factors.

Swans as "gentle animals"? Clearly you've never met one. :-/

I'd gladly trade in every single one since Ike, personally.

@vladtheimpala5532 A good place to start would be the educational system.
2
@jdunnatl Okay, you've got me there. XD

"Ben Franklin advocating for the American cause in France" = "sleeping with most of the noblewomen in France." No, I am not kidding. He seduced all the women, made friends with their husbands (who didn't care, apparently), then got the nobility to lean on the young and somewhat insecure Louis XVI. Thus flow the tides of history. Ain't it grand?

@whiteowl4097 I did a double-take as well, but it's definitely the same guy.

Michaelmas greetings to you as well! <3

38:00 - The trenches etc sound more like some sort of geological phenomenon to me, though what that could be I have no idea offhand.

Wise-ass. <3

@vladtheimpala5532 He's among the most evil we've had, but I don't know about the worst. He was competent at the actual job, unlike some we've had... even leaving out anybody in living memory.

@vladtheimpala5532 The whole charter thing is wide open to abuse, but basically privatize all schools via voucher. Problem solved.

@vladtheimpala5532 There's been quite a few that have either been basically scams or were managed with pure incompetence. Look around a bit and you'll find the stories.

@jjs8426 It's only because you are. ^_^

That's not correct pronunciation of many words even by our standards. Drives me crazy sometimes, but still. Good content. :)

1:16 - I prefer "THOSE WHO WOULD PROFANE THE DEAD ARE JUDGED TO JOIN THEIR RANKS..." ^_^

14:00 - You are the man. <3 <3 <3
