  1. You put far too much stock in electric motors to "save the environment." The electricity still needs to come from somewhere, and as a practical matter that currently means either fossil fuels or nuclear fission reactions. So either the fossil fuels are just burned en masse at a central location or we get even more nuclear waste. You do raise a valid point about noise pollution and air quality, though. Hadn't thought about that. So removing the burning to remote, centralized locations might be worthwhile. :)
