  2. There is a natural fear of large predators. And a culturally acquired fear of metallic alien spaceship looking attackers. They would seem to be vulnerable to modern air to air and surface to air missiles, and, to a much lesser degree at low altitudes, sniper rifles and medium and heavy machine guns. Plus, they are large radar targets and easy to intercept. You can't armor the gas bag much, the only defense against air defenses would be active defenses, such as anti-missile missiles and point defense, like the Vulcan/Phalanx system deployed by surface warships against missiles. Also, autocannon to suppress ground fire. Overall, more scary looking than dangerous. "Enemy bombers approaching against the wind! Stroll for your lives!"

  3.  @jamesneilsongrahamloveinth1301  "crosswinds" Regardless of vectored engines you would point the nose to the vector sum of your desired ground track/speed and the reciprocal of the wind. This for an airship turns more into the wind than for a heavier-than-air craft because of the difference in airspeed.
