Despite the general high population density of China as a whole, there are vast tracts of sparsely populated territory in China proper. China wants Siberia for RESOURCES (which was the reason cited in the video, and for speculative development of new sea passages because "experts" have been saying for 45 years that the polar ice caps will melt in 10 years). As for the natives China creates a new client state and segregates the population, like North Korea. China has active territorial disputes with all their neighbors because they're expansionist. China is buying up and controlling international ports because they have ambitions of global military and economic hegemony. China occupies Tibet and the Uighurs because they are expansionist. China violated their transfer treaty obligations with respect to Hong Kong self governance because they're expansionist. China counterclaims the ocean resources of all it's Pacific neighbors and a huge chunk of the ocean, and built artificial islands to force the claim because they're expansionist. China tried to conquer Vietnam because they're expansionist. China foments hatred for Japan because they're expansionist. Just because these ambitions are unrealistic, that doesn't mean they aren't real. Anybody who ever had the guts to tell an aging dictator "no" has long sense lost their guts. It is an endemic flaw of dictatorship, as Putin is discovering.
