Trailers/Previews- I almost always call them what they were captioned as when I saw movies as a kid, "Coming Attractions." Or I call them that at the movies, at least. I guess I am constrained to call them "trailers" on the Internet, because that's what I have to enter as the search term to find them.

@joannesmith2484 " He always played John Wayne." John Wayne was an Icon. That is a much rarer talent than those who have a greater theatrical range. Icons sustain the industry in which mere "actors" work.

@joannesmith2484 "You're entitled to that opinion, as am I to my bewilderment." That was not in question, on either hand. Your quote is not from an interview, it is a line from a movie. The point of the movie, as played by Wayne was that the "shootist' was a deeply flawed man, for all his virtues. There is a sense in which icons tend always to play a similar character, but the characters aren't actually identical to one another, and none of them are the actor.
