This is diametrically false. It is doctrinaire atheists and materialists who don't like the big bang because it gives the material universe A BEGINNING. Creationists eat it up. Creationists have never believed in a (past) eternal material universe. The belief that the material universe BEGAN by being created by SOMETHING ELSE is definitional to creationism. Theists have always said God is the ground of being (ultimate cause of all things) and transcends time, and that the material universe BEGAN when God created it (Genesis 1:1). Victorian era atheists claimed that MATTER was ground of being, and eternally preexistant. Big Bang theory keeps getting attacked by atheists, because it is a gaping hole in materialism.
