School choice (education vouchers) is a better choice than our current system. A more generally good system for more situations. The thing about home schooling is that you don't have to wait to win a battle in Congress or your state legislature.

Japan and South Korea were and are right up against a nearby aggressive communist threat. NF mentioned that difference. That gives Japan, South Korea, and (in the day) West Germany both a stark model of a dystopia to avoid, and a powerful and imminent incentive to make the system the allies built work for them. Also, I think we must entertain the possibility that Islamic societies are uniquely inimical to representative government.

If you listen carefully, he was asking whether the help as structured helped, or perhaps even was intended to. He didn't just say "buckle up, buttercup", he proscribed his recommended form of therapy. The incentive structure for the counselors in the current system do not align with the justifying goals.

No, he was wrong. We definitely need men like Nick Freitas, but part of what makes him him is he acts within the law. Col. Jessup did not. Doing a sheep dog's work doesn't exempt you from the rules, and it certainly does not justify hanging out another sheep dog out to dry for something you ordered him to do, and cultivating a culture of lying to higher to cover your ass. That is the sort of thing that turns sheep dogs into wolves, and we have no shortage of the latter. "The speech" was Jessup's rationalization. A rationalization will necessarily contain truths. Don't just remember "the speech" and forget the rest of the movie.

It wasn't a political topic until masculinity began to be demonized. Conservatives leave politics alone when politics leaves them alone.

Don't you wish you had an argument?

@oisinm332 I'm on the spectrum, too, and don't like being around people. I, however don't rationalize my moral and political views to flatter my preferences. I'm patriotic, and want people to thrive everywhere.

@jonsnow7092 Homelessness in the US is not a real estate issue at all. It is a mental health and social morality issue.

Show me where he says that. Or do you find it necessary to "straw man" his position in order to assail it?
