That's the way it's supposed to work with utilities. You don't pay your contracted amount, your service shuts down.

"Government shouldn't be giving money to any Companies" Can't quite go along with that. I'm a conservative and all for fiscal restraint, but contracting corporations is the most efficient way to do anything practical. Government may be doing too much, but trying to do it in house will waste 10 times as much. Government shouldn't be bailing out failed corporations, or doing corporate welfare, but contracting out work is not bad in and of itself.

@boslyporshy6553 Let them be petty with their OWN money.

Yea, the blackmailee needs to know he's being blackmailed for the thing to work. And it also "encourages the others" as the saying goes.

@ytrestrictedbird Why would you assume @senfing votes Democrat?

@rogerwarren803 The bureaucracy is busting a gut to punish Musk for political action and your defense is "It won't work, so no foul"?
1
@peterjean5403 Sure, Bezos is having to contract launches with SpaceX.

@springerworks002 "Do you not understand that there is more than the uniparty?" Do YOU not? If the establishment weren't threatened by conservative Republicans, it wouldn't be mobilizing the law enforcement apparatus and bureaucracy against them. "There are dozens of political parties." No, in terms of accomplishing change and effecting policy, THERE AREN'T. (Not to mention that the biggest third party - Libertarians - not only aren't conservative, they always tactically sabotage themselves.) If your Republican reps are too leftist, VOTE IN PRIMARIES. But, of course, you don't want freedom to win, you're trying to fool us into throwing away our vote so the leftists win.

@MrRoyalbeers The subsidies aren't going away, they're just going to all Musk's competitors.

@specialkonacid6574 Elon Musk didn't write the article. This is not a subsidy to SpaceX in the sense required. It is not a unilateral payment to support a business. It is a contract to provide a service the government wants provided. Yes, complaining about corruption and abuse of power is good.

@garf02 What blackmail? They approached him. They are blackmailing him for political purposes. "Stop or we'll hurt you." This is corruption and abuse of power on the government's part, and basically they aren't hiding it because the victim NEEDS TO KNOW IT FOR IT TO WORK. Contracting with private corporations is how the government gets anything done efficiently.

@toordog1753 What is whose fault? Unless he voted for Biden it's not his fault the federal government is wholesale using taxpayer money for partizan political purposes. If you did, it's yours.
